Tears have been laughed for days, there is a silly thing and in a few hours the light will be taken off satisfied. In short: Carnival 2025 is over. The last parades were held on Tuesday, in Eindhoven the party was celebrated with supporters of Arsenal, who were in the city for the match against PSV. We show you here how the last carnival day was celebrated.

Break down
In the Moesland (Schaijk) it is tradition to break down some of the cars, from the beautiful parade of Monday, one day later. That happens after the so -called Goapmerrege, the morning on which carnival lovers can look at the cars from the parade once more.

Latest parades
Where the cars are already being demolished in Schaijk, the parade in Peejenland (Hoeven) and Zeuvebultelaand (Zevenbergen), among others, had to be walked. Just like the last few days, the participants and the public were treated to a delicious spring sun. That makes looking at a parade a lot more fun.

High visit for Baby Lucas
Lucas Krol is probably one of the youngest carnival lovers in Brabant. He is only a few days old, but on Tuesday he already received a visit from the prince and youth prince. Lucas is the ‘youngest Dûrdauwer 2025’, a title for the baby that is born closest to Carnival Sunday.

If it is up to mother Renske, this was his first and last carnival at home. “Next year Lucas will go on the road with headphones.”

Marjolein is honorary citizen of calling gap
A great honor for Marjolein Hockers from Eindhoven: she was appointed honorary citizen of Repoetsoetgat on Tuesday afternoon. Her creations are worn in theaters, in the Efteling and even by the city prince of Eindhoven. That hard work did not go unnoticed. On Tuesday afternoon, Marjolein was named honorary citizen of Repoetsoetgat in the Fijnfishenie Café.

The fire in it
Carnival closing happens in every village and every city in a different way, in Indegat (Boxtel) they set a huge duck on fire every year. The duck is the symbol of the village with carnival. Not everyone is sad that carnival is now over. “It’s done once,” says a boy with a big smile.

Carnival with Arsenal supporters
In addition to partygoers, there were also Arsenal supporters in the center of Eindhoven on Tuesday. They came to Lampegat for the PSV match against Arsenal.

Ruud designs a carnival car for the last time
For Ruud Hoogers (60) from Hoeven, Carnaval 2025 is one with a smile, but also a tear. For forty years he designed the carnival cars for his club BC De Spie.

Gigantic cars, with which he could show off in his hometown of Peejenland. A village with a great procession tradition, where on Tuesday the audience comes from far and wide to admire the cars. But Ruud was forced to make his last design this year.

Fijnfishenie Café open for the last time
The end of carnival also means that the Fijnfishenie Café will close the doors again. Below you can see how Jordy, Christel and Nicole said goodbye. And for the that hard Carnival lovers there is good news: it takes less than a year until the weather is carnival. On Friday, February 13, we will kick off with 3 hours of Vurraf.
