Semih Kaya, who grew up in Galatasaray’s infrastructure, returned to the yellow and red team after 5 years.

In the statement made, it was stated that Semih Kaya will wear the Galatasaray jersey from now on.

Here is that statement:

“Semih Kaya from Galatasaray Academy, our player, who showed success in being promoted to the A team after playing in our infrastructure for three years in 2006, made his debut in the A team in the Ziraat Turkey Cup group match played against Malatyaspor on 17 January 2009.

Semih Kaya, who returned to his home in 2011 after his short-term temporary transfer adventures in Gaziantepspor and Kartalspor, showed himself by creating a perfect defender tandem with world-famous Czech defender Tomáš Ujfaluši in the 2011-2012 season when we became champions. He was an important part of the squad as a young talent who excelled from the infrastructure in the championship trophy that we lifted on the opponent’s field.

Playing successfully for the Galatasaray Football A Team for five consecutive seasons, the defender won 12 trophies, including 4 Super League Championships, 4 Turkish Cup Championships and 4 Turkish Super Cup Championships during this time.

Crowning his debut with the Galatasaray jersey by wearing the national jersey, Kaya met the Slovakia friendly match played for the first time on February 29, 2012 with the crescent-star jersey and wore the A national jersey 23 times on his back.

Semih Kaya signed a contract with Sparta Prague in the 2017-2018 summer transfer season. After 1.5 seasons spent here, he came back to Galatasaray on loan and made a significant contribution to the championship we won for half a season. The experienced defender, who returned to Czechia, spent the 2019-2020 football season here. In Sparta Prague, he achieved the title of 2020 Czech Cup title.

Returning to his homeland in 2020, the 30-year-old football player regained his home, Galatasaray, after wearing the jersey of Yeni Malatyaspor for one and a half seasons.

We welcome Semih Kaya back to Galatasaray and wish him success.”
