We want to cancel Last Christmas of the Wham!

The original initiative is by a Swedish couple who evidently just can’t swallow the Christmas classic Last Christmas of the Wham!catchphrase of the holidays that goes into hibernation for the whole year to resurrect in a manner actually a bit invasive on Christmas days. From here to asking for its elimination, however, the step is not indifferent.

From Sweden the petition

The two promoters of the petition are the writer Tomas Mazetti and his wife and they explained well their hatred for this soundtrack of a large number of films and TV series, which on Christmas days is heard practically everywhere.

In practice, the woman together with her colleagues one day she was forced to listen to it one hundred and eleven times during a single working day. And so, after years of prolonged listening, the choice to try to eliminate this iconic song was inevitable.

The “Last Christmas” video has 768 million views on Youtube.

Remove Last Christmas of the Wham!: not an impossible project

The couple said that the project is absolutely not far-fetched. In fact, the two first informed each other to understand if it was possible to proceed with such a request and the response received was positive.

That is, he was told it was theoretically possible buy the rights to the song and then delete it from all streaming platforms. The couple contacted 327 other hater profiles Last Christmasraising a total of $62,100.

Difficult that the record company agrees

A good figure, but certainly too low to be able to imagine even just sitting at the table of the record company. The road to reach the necessary sum, in fact, is still very long, since we are talking about stellar figures.

In fact, it seems unlikely that Warner Chappell music UK, which holds the very fortunate rights, would be able to accept a similar request. At the moment the official clip has 768 million views on Youtube and is the ninth most clicked video in the world.

A global success since its launch in 1984 which is renewed every year and which covers any corner of the world. And which, however, evidently, not everyone loves…
