Music and entertainment entrepreneur Lasse Norres received recognition for his career posthumously.

Today, Wednesday, the city of Vantaa handed out prizes to the creators of the cultural sector at the Vantaa culture gala, where Norres was awarded the prize for a significant cultural work.

The award was given for impressive achievements in revitalizing the art scene of the city of Vantaa. According to the city of Vantaa’s press release, Norres was informed of the award before his death.

Norres died on November 14 at the age of 73. He had cancer.

Norres was a significant influencer in the music and entertainment industry since the 1960s and worked, among other things, as a spokesperson, host and PR person for various record companies. He collaborated with several leading domestic artists for several decades.

Norres has been living in Vantaa since 2006 and he was a member of the coalition in the Vantaa city council. Due to cancer treatments, Norres had to give up his candidacy in the spring municipal elections.

In addition, the city of Vantaa awarded the distinguished artist award to actress and theater director Anne Nielsen.

The award is given to an artist who lives permanently in Vantaa and has demonstrated his artistic talent.

The recognition is justified, among other things, by the fact that Nielsen’s work has enriched the cultural offerings of the people of Vantaa and created permanent structures for local art. Nielsen has been a key influencer in establishing Teatteri Vantaa and maintaining its operations for almost four decades.
