The fire in the shed, of which the first reports arrived around 7.45 pm, is not yet over around 9 p.m. However, the smoke development is ‘considerably less’ than when the fire had just arisen, says a spokesperson for the Security Region. Many people shared images of the enormous plume of smoke, which could be seen from Schiphol and Amsterdam, among others.

When the fire broke out, no people were present in the shed. How many caravans have been destroyed by the fire is still unknown. The fire brigade is currently trying to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent sheds.
According to the safety region, some explosions have been heard. Local media report that it is probably about gas bottles, but the spokesperson cannot confirm that yet. Nothing is yet known about the cause of the fire.
