A barn at a house in Nuenen was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday evening. The fire brigade initially reported that there was a car fire. Later it was scaled up to a big fire because the fire raged in the barn. A neighbor has tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose, but that turned out to be pointless.
Several extinguishing vehicles and cars for water extraction were used.
All kinds of electric vehicles would have been stored in the shed such as an electric car, electric bicycles and an electric scooter. The resident could still have been able to drive his car outside.
Preventing home
There were also gas bottles in the barn that continued to explode. The fire brigade had rolled out a number of snakes on arrival, but had to withdraw due to the exploding gas bottles.
They then use a water cannon at the front of the barn, in order to prevent the fire from the fire to the house.
Barn considered lost
The fire brigade also started to extinguish at the back of the barn. There were large clouds of smoke and flying fire, those are small sparks that fly through the air. What caused the fire is still unclear.
The barn collapsed during the fire and is considered lost.
