“During the first training, they did not expect that everyone would be able to run the five kilometers. But after months of training, they still managed it. It is great to see how the participants gain more self-confidence and continue to develop,” says Judith Jansen, project manager of the Love Life Run.
Yvette is also supported by her parents, who are also dealing with cancer themselves. It is an emotional day for them.
“I’m really happy,” says her father. “And especially very proud to see our daughter here at the start.” The presence of her parents means a lot to Yvette.
Together they know the impact of cancer, but today they also celebrate the power of recovery, perseverance and looking ahead, says Jan, Yvette’s father.
The Love Life Run raises money for cancer research. The participants in Hilversum together raised 100,182 euros this year, the organization announced this afternoon.
