Lando Norris took the pole position by beating Max Verstappen by 0.323 seconds in the rainy and wet Las Vegas qualifying rounds. Carlos Sainz took third place, while Norris’ teammate and championship rival Oscar Piastri took fifth place.
Lewis Hamilton had a big surprise and was eliminated in Q1 and remained in 20th place.
