Lamborghini Revuelto, the 1,015 HP hybrid supercar: information, engine, test

A straight-line missile that dances in the curves: the first hybrid supercar from the house of Toro stands out for its design, technology and performance. Driving pleasure is guaranteed by the sophisticated management of the 1,015 HP system released by the V12 and the other three engines

Magic was born to make the impossible possible. Today we have on our side the technology that can bring together distant solutions and needsso a larger and more powerful car can also be easier to drive, more manageable and faster, as demonstrated by the brand new Lamborghini Revuelto. Sixty years of creativity and irrationality, of courage and innovation, of design, technology and amazement: this is the story of the Sant’Agata Bolognese company which in 2023 completely renews its flagship with V12 engine. The glorious Aventador is thus retiring to revive its history of naturally aspirated V12s which began in 1963 with the 350 Gtcontinuing with the mythical ones Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago And Aventador to then pass the baton to the revolutionary Revuelto.

His name takes up that of an indomitable bullfighting bull famous for his rebellious spirit. In the same way, the latest addition to Sant’Agata Bolognese breaks the rules and becomes the first Lamborghini in history to use a plug-in hybrid engine. A driven and well-structured electrification that passes through three electric motors, one at the rear and two front coaxials (one for each wheel) that work in symbiosis with a totally redesigned naturally aspirated V12. It alone achieves the power of ben 825 HP at over 9,000 rpm and together with the three electric ones it manages to deliver the record power of ben 1,015 total horsepower. From here a new era will begin which will then see two other electrified models in the next two years.

engine turned over

The V12as well as revised in every aspect and redesigned largely compared to the Aventador, now reaches 9,400 rpm (a record for a 6,500 cc engine) versus around 8,500 for the previous one. The flywheel output is towards the rear, no longer forward, while the gearbox is now at the rear of the car. An eight-speed double clutch with transverse shafts to be more compact and not lengthen the car too much, made in a very sophisticated way and which incorporates a 150 HP electric motor which acts both as a motor and as a recharger for the battery and also performs the reverse function.

Atat the front we find two enginesone per wheel, which in addition to allowing 4×4 function also allow very advanced torque vectoring which directs the power to a single wheel when necessary. The all new carbon frame is much stiffer than the previous one and now the front subframe is also made of collapsible carbon. The car reaches i 350 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

countach style

Revuelto reinvents the classic wedge-shaped Countach-style look but in a modern and aerodynamic way, with many influences from motorcycling and aeronautics. The front, full of air vents, resembles a shark while the windshield is very sloping.

The rear is perhaps the most personal and attractive area, it is inspired by a sports motorbike but also by a fighter, especially in the shape of the exhausts. Also in the passenger compartment there is a pronounced carbon profile with spatial design which contains the central air vents and the 8.4″ vertical touchscreen, the technological heart of the car.

total ease of handling

Very fast, stable, precise, but above all easy to handle: this is the most astonishing fact behind the wheel of the new Lambo. On the road you can enjoy the city setting (almost all electric and silent) and the road one. But to enjoy its chassis and engine it is better to switch to sport or racing mode, the acceleration is impressive and the V12 which spins above 9,000 rpm pervades the cockpit with its sound and it pushes it beyond 350 per hour with impressive stability.

On the track it can amaze with its handling, with the front electric motors that help with all-wheel drive and stability. His is true magic dancing through the curves and tightening the lines like a racing carthe secret is all in the mix between history and innovation.

strengths and weaknesses

Below are the strengths and weaknesses, based on our opinions, of the Lamborghini Revuelto:

  • Guide: intuitive and easy to handle despite its size and power;
  • Motor: the song of his V12 gives emotions and projects into hyperspace;
  • Design: sharp edges and wedge-shaped lines give Countach-style aggression;
  • Hybrid: more efficient and ecological.
  • Object holder: There is more luggage space for up to 4 suitcases, but other than the passenger compartment there are no pockets or large compartments.
