Spanish first division side Real Sociedad are just a few steps away from qualifying for the first Champions League since 2013/14. The Basques, who are seven points ahead of fifth place five games before the end of the season, will tackle the “premier class” adventure with old champion David Silva (37). The longtime Manchester City pro has extended his expiring contract with La Real until 2024. as the club announced.
Silva returned to his Spanish homeland from Man City in 2020 and has been in San Sebastián ever since – also in the current season. In 32 competitive games, the former world and European champion scored two goals and seven assists. In coach Imanol Alguacil’s system, Silva pulls the strings in attacking midfield.
