Lady Gaga will play Harley Quinn for the first time. In the past films “The Suicide Squad” and “Birds Of Prey” Margot Robbie took on the role of Joker’s companion. “I said from the start, ‘All I wanted was for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters that, like Macbeth or Batman, is passed from great actress to great actress,'” Robbie said in one interview.
The sequel to the 2019 DC film by Todd Phillips is scheduled to open in German cinemas on October 3, 2024 as a musical. He’s directing again, with Joaquin Phoenix taking on the role of the eponymous lead actor. In 2020 he received both the Oscar and the Golden Globe for best actor for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck.
The German-American actress Zazie Beetz will also be back. Starring alongside her are Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener.
