In order to clarify the question of which countries have the highest level of corruption, the international non-governmental organization Transparency International has identified the world’s best-known corruption indicator, the so-called Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). The index is based on the assessment of experts and evaluates the degree of corruption perceived in politics and administration.
