Carnival 2022 erupted
War or no war in Europe, the mainland has started again. Last year corona was still the big game breaker and the year before a big storm that prevented many parades. Traditionally, the kick-off is in the Venlose Zoepkoel, but because of the virus that outdoor spectacle was now inside the Maaspoort. And that took some getting used to.

There is a party here, but in mind many carnivalists are also with Ukraine. And you can see that in the streets. For example, the government is not in the traditional mainland tricolor, but in the blue-yellow of Ukraine. And this is also the case with some homes, such as here in Maastricht. The first disguised people with a painted Ukrainian flag on their faces have also already been spotted. And in the city center of Maastricht, more than 100 people took part in a prayer path. Carnival with corona fear
