Norwegian singer Kyle Alessandro made a song that made it to the Eurovision final.

Norwegian singer Kyle Alessandro19, admits that the past year has been fast-paced in every way. In February, he won the five-a-side qualifiers in Norway Lighterwith his song.

In May, he took the stage in Basel and finished in 18th place in the final of the singing competition. Although there was no profit, the song became an international hit. On the music streaming service Spotify alone, the song has been listened to more than 47 million times, more than, for example, the winning song of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

– Participating in Eurovision has been the best time of my life. At the same time, it was really exhausting when I had to travel from one country to another in a short time and promote yourself.

However, there is a sad story behind the song. Last year, he got a phone call he couldn’t wait for.

– My mother called and I heard her crying. My mother had contracted cancer and had been given half a year to live, Kyle recalls.

Lighter is, according to Kyle, a tribute to his mother, who wanted to see her son on stage. In addition to her brother and father, the singer’s biggest supporters have been her friends in the middle of the storm of emotions.

Although the mother’s situation seemed inconsolable at first, today the situation is completely different. Kyle says that his mother is still alive and the cancer has been treated.

– The experience gained from Eurovision made me realize that I want to be an artist whose music touches those who have gone through the same emotions as me.

Beyonce

Kyle says that he dreamed of a career as a singer when he was little. He was only 7 years old when his parents entered him in a children’s singing competition. There was still no success at that time.

Three years later, however, the big moment came. 10-year-old Kyle rose to Norway Talent– on the stage of the program. The jury was dumbfounded as the young child star confidently performed Beyoncé Hello– song.

– Beyoncé can dance and she can put on a good show. She’s also a good businesswoman, Kyle laughs.

Kyle made it to the semi-finals of the program, but the place in the finals remained a dream. After the competition, the Norwegian duo Marcus and Martin’s old manager contacted Kyle. As a result of the collaboration, the debut album was born in 2017.

Currently, Kyle is focusing on making new music. With Eurovision, he got new contacts, so an international career attracts the young man.

Praise

The Norwegian singer is visiting Finland for the first time. The young man, interested in architecture, fell in love as soon as he arrived in Helsinki. However, a Finnish singer receives greater praise, Erika Vikman.

The two got to know each other this spring at Eurovision, where Vikman represented Finland Ich komme – song.

– I love him! What he does is incredible, Kyle continues.

– I met him this summer in Stockholm. He is one of the few wise artists I have met after the competition.
