Eupen presented itself as a well -organized mid -engine and tried to keep the home team. KVK had refueled from the victory over RWDM and let the ball go around nicely. Yet came the first danger of the visitors. Nuhu got space on the left and put in front, but on the second post Anderson was just able to work in a corner for a Eupen attacker.
But from then on, KVK dominated the first half. Ambrose got a free shooting opportunity, still laid out Van Landschoot, but Hiller stood Pal. When KVK accelerated, Eupen had to breathe. Halfway the first half Anderson got a distant ball on the left. The shot immediately put the ball on the shoe for one in the sixteen. Cracked, the ball went untenably against the nets: 1-0.
Even before the break, Vilmos Denes and Van Landschoot could put goalkeeper Hiller back to the test. Immediately after the break, the 2-0 tee was very close. First could take Van Landschoot on Dens, but he didn’t hit. Moments later, fiddling Eupen in the back. Ambrose and Van Landschoot did not get the ball past goalkeeper Hiller.
Eupen scored in between, but for offside the 1-1 was rejected. On the other side the ball except for the spot, clearly hands game. Thierry Ambrose stood behind the ball but kicked his eleven meter within the Beriek of goalkeeper Hiller. The reassuring 2-0 did not like that.
With fifteen minutes to go, Yan van Genechten got red at Eupen. Kortrijk still had opportunities through Ambrose and substitute Sixtus, but it remained 1-0.
At the top of the position nothing changes. Beveren won 2-1 against Seraing, Beerschot beat Lokeren with a late penalty hit by West-Fleming Lukas van Eenoo. Beveren tops the list of a perfect 24/24. KVK is second with 22 points and Beerschot follows three points with 20 points. Next Sunday Beveren will come to the Guldenspower Stadium for the genuine topper of the series.
