Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC introduced its new coach on Monday evening: Peter Pacult will coach the Carinthians in the future. The 65-year-old succeeds Dietmar Kühbauer as the cup winner, who moved to LASK the previous week. The Viennese receives a contract in Lavanttal that runs until the end of the season with an option.

Pacult most recently worked for Austria Klagenfurt, which was later relegated, until April, and which he led to the Bundesliga in 2021. Pacult had his most successful time with SK Rapid, with whom he became champions in 2008; the only title in his coaching career so far. Most recently, the ex-professional was also traded loosely at his long-standing club 1860 Munich.

“After the surprising departure of Dietmar Kühbauer, an intensive search for a new head coach has been underway in the past few days. In my opinion, in the current situation we need an experienced coach who is familiar with the Austrian Bundesliga. That’s why we are very happy to have found a new coach in Peter Pacult who meets this profile 100%,” said President Dietmar Riegler.
