The former Genoa returns to Banik Prievidza after a serious injury, choosing to start from his roots. He will also be technical councilor of the club.
Jurai Kucka, a midfielder with a past in Serie A, has embarked on a new chapter in his football career. After a difficult period marked by a serious injury, the player has chosen to leave from his roots, returning to the club that launched him in the world of football.
The return to the origins of Juraj
After a long and prolific career that saw him protagonist in prominent clubs such as Genoa, Parma and Milan, Juraj Kucka decided to return to Banik Prievidza, a team of the third Slovak division. The choice of the midfielder, at the age of 38, was influenced by the strong link with his hometown and by the desire to close the circle in the club in which he took his first steps. Despite a serious injury to the crusader and meniscus ligament, which kept him away from the playing fields for a significant period, Kucka has shown a great determination in wanting to continue playing, choosing to start from his heart. His international career has also seen him wear the shirts of Sparta Prague, Trabzonspor, Watford and Slovan Bratislava, enriching his wealth of experience and professionalism.
Kucka and the role of technical adviser
During the official presentation with the neroverde shirt of Banik Prievidza, Juraj Kucka expressed his emotion for the return to the origins. “I come back where it all started,” he said, underlining the special meaning of this moment in his career. In addition to the role of player, the former Milan will support the club as a technical councilor, making available his experience and competence to help the team grow. This double guise testifies to his strong link with the team and his will to actively contribute to the future of the club. His friend David Hancko, current owner of Banik, praised Kucka as an example for everyone, underlining the importance of never forgetting his roots. “Jurai is an example for everyone. He shows that the roots never forget,” said Hancko, highlighting the symbolic value of the return of the former Genoa to the club of his childhood.
