The first point has been won for Jong Ajax. The promises from Amsterdam played 3-3 against relegated FC Emmen. David Kalokoh, Mika Godts and Kristian Hlynsson were accurate.
The first chance was for the people of Drenthe. Goalkeeper Charlie Setford was able to save Joey Konings’ effort. Things went fast for Jong Ajax after that. First, David Kalokoh gave the Amsterdam promises the lead, after which Mika Godts doubled the margin: 2-0. In the second half, Emmen came back into the match through Desley Ubbink. He was alert to Konings’ shot and rounded off the rebound.
Things then went from bad to worse for Jong Ajax. Ben Scholte single-handedly put the Drenthe team at 2-3 with two goals. The home team seemed to be going behind the net in this way, until Kristian Hlynsson saved a point in injury time. By the way, Amourricho from Axel Dongen made his return after five months of injuries.
The draw means Jong Ajax hands over the shared last place to Telstar, which does not yet have any points. Next Monday, Jong AZ will be the next opponent of the Amsterdam youngsters.
