BVB striker without a goal in 4 games

Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac can imagine a break for Serhou Guirassy, who has not been playing at his best recently. “It is of course possible that Serhou will get a little creative break. But I still have a little time to think about tomorrow’s game and the next games,” said Kovac before the second round game in the DFB Cup at Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday (6.30 p.m., ZDF and Sky).
BVB top scorer Guirassy has been waiting for a sense of success in the Bundesliga since September 13th, having previously scored in eight games in a row across all seasons. “Of course I also see that he’s not scoring the goals at the moment. But I can still see how hard-working he is, that he’s giving everything. It happens in the life of a striker that you don’t use up balls that you would otherwise put in. He’s our strike leader – he’s the one who initiates everything there. That’s why I have his back,” explained the 54-year-old coach.
Even if the coach doesn’t have any personnel concerns at the moment, Guirassy could play from the start, as he did in the late 1-0 win against 1. FC Köln. “It’s the case that everyone is fine. There won’t be any major changes,” emphasized Kovac.

The two long-term injured Emre Can and Julien Duranville are making progress on their way back. However, according to the coach, a comeback for both will probably only be possible after the international break in mid-November. “But no pressure: we really want to have 100 percent healthy and fit players,” said Kovac.
