The Guys did not play a top match against a solid and well-organized Patro, but showed themselves to be very efficient. Jellert Van Landschoot opened the score in the 27th minute with a beautiful lob, after which Thierry Ambrose doubled the lead shortly after half-time. Goalkeeper Ilic kept his team afloat with some great saves and ensured that Kortrijk could keep a clean sheet.
There was also a spectacle off the field: Patro coach Stijn Stijnen received two yellow cards in one minute just before half-time, after he reacted furiously to an uncalled handball in the Kortrijk sixteen. The Limburg trainer had to go to the stands angrily.
Beveren leads the standings with 35 points, followed by Kortrijk with 31 from one match less.
