AW.DTV started strong. The team, which finished fourth in the Korfball League 2, took the lead early on. Blauw-Wit put its affairs in order before half time and went into the dressing room with a lead: 12-13.

After the break, the away team seemed unleashed. AW.DTV failed to score in the first eight minutes, while Blauw-Wit scored five times in that period: 12-18. Thijs Rodenburg was the star with nine hits.

In the final phase AW.DTV came back, but again it was Rodenburg who stood up. He took Blauw-Wit by the hand and decided the game: 20-22. A difficult, but important victory for the Amsterdam team.

Blauw-Wit coach Dennis Doves called it ‘a terrible match’ afterwards at Eyecons, but will be especially relieved that his team will play one more time next week.

Opponent still unknown

Blauw-Wit, which has never been relegated since the foundation of the Korfball League, will play the final for a place in the 2026/2027 Korfball League against HKC or DeetosSnel on April 11 in the Maaspoort in Den Bosch. In that semi-final, the score is tied after two games: HKC won the first game (18-25), DeetosSnel hit back in the second game (20-23). The decisive third meeting will follow on Tuesday.
