Konsta Hietanen has to slow down: “If you don’t want to go to the hospital”

Actor and artist Konsta Hietanen has been working on new music and acted in Secret Lives. Next year, he plans to take more time for himself and his family.

Konsta Hietanen, 38, is excited about her current work projects. Especially the release of new music makes Hietanen, known as an actor and artist, happy.

The release of my own album is next year.

– I’m really looking forward to being able to gig next year and perform my own music for people, says Hietanen happily.

Hietanen says that he writes a lot of music alone at home, but the demos of the songs are made together with the producer Aki Sihvonen and Hietanen’s “credit man” Santtu Väänänen with.

On December 9, Hietanen released a completely new kind of rock-inspired music that may surprise some listeners. The single in question To hell with it came about very easily, according to Hietanen, and the song was recorded in one go.

– In no way did I think that now I would make a song that would be suitable for the radio. I would say that I found something about myself with this song. The best things in art and entertainment happen by accident, Hietanen reflects.

In 2020, Hietanen won the Tähdet, tähdet competition. In that program, he interpreted songs from both Iron Maiden and Eminem. At that time, Hietanen understood one thing about himself.

– I noticed that when I put makeup on my eyes and my appearance differs from the everyday look, I am at my best on stage, the artist opens.

Hietanen promises that he will also be seen at church concerts and other events in the future, even though the new single is rocking. Matti Matikainen

Hard to say no

Working on several work projects at the same time has also burdened Hieta. He admits that the past year has caused both mind and body fatigue more than before.

– There have been periods here when there has been clearly too much work. During the Corona period, our entire industry had its finger in its mouth, and since then it has been very difficult to say no to anything. I’m very entrepreneurial and that’s probably why this is, Hietanen states.

Although Hietanen usually doesn’t want to make big New Year’s resolutions, next year he wants to schedule his life better so that he can have more and more time for his family.

– I promised that I have to slow down. If you don’t want to go to the hospital, you have to calm down this life, Hietanen says seriously.

Hietasen has five children with his wife Aami. Hietanen says that there is enough speed and dangerous situations in the family, and it is never completely quiet in the big house.

– Yes, there has been feedback from our 4-year-old little daughter that you are leaving again. Yes, then there will be a knock on the self-esteem, whether it is necessary to leave it like that again.

Hietanen believes that as her children grow up, she will spend more time alone. He hopes that he could go to Lapland with his guitar to work on music.

In the new year, the couple will also celebrate 20 years together. Hietanen laughs that he hasn’t planned a present for his wife, but he should probably get one.

– I rarely do surprises, but when I do, I do something bigger, Hietanen laughs.

During the current year, the home of the Hiestasten family has undergone renovation. – I am especially grateful to my wife, how she has put a new faith in our home. I’m not that good at it myself, Hietanen says gratefully. Matti Matikainen

Reflections on life

When asked about aging, Hietanen remains Tyyne calm. He says that turning forty, which is a few years away, does not bother him.

– I’m currently living a really cool phase in my life. It’s funny how he was able to realize so many of his passions at such a young age. I hope there is another one like it left, Hietanen reflects.

Hietanen, who lives in Lahti with his family, spends several hours a day behind the wheel of a car. For example, while driving to the studio of Hidden Lives, he reflects on his life and the things he has experienced. One thing in particular comes to Hietanen’s thoughts day after day.

– I think about death a lot, actually every day. I don’t even know what it is. Maybe I just want to do something every day that doesn’t annoy me, he states.

However, Hietanen stresses that he is not afraid of death. He says that he stopped making continuous goals, which has changed his way of thinking in life.

– I no longer think that I should be a certain kind of faija or get into the Vain Elämää program. I do exactly what I like and that will be enough from now on.

Hiestas Christmas

Hietanen looks forward to the Christmas season. At that time, the whole family calms down for the holidays and they spend time together and with their friends.

– Ever since I was a child, I’ve thought that the whole year I’ll be busy and at Christmas I can calm down. Then we eat chocolate, forget sports and just be with the family.

In the extended Hiesta family, it is customary to buy one gift for each child.

– Of course, the godparents and others also buy, so there is always an awful lot of gifts. However, we try to make it so that giving gifts is not the main thing. And we also give donations to others, says Hietanen.

Although the theme of the newly released single is different from Hietanen’s previous productions, he is also excited about the ongoing Christmas concert tour.

– I have been thinking about such a Christmas concert tour for a long time. Maybe this is related to that contemplation of death, that I wanted to make that dream come true. At the moment, I live with a strong now-or-never mentality and that’s good, Hietanen sums up.

At Christmas, Hietanen wants to spend time with his family and friends. – On Christmas Eve, we are only with family, but in the days in between, we have friends over to our house! Matti Matikainen
