Nations League relegation threatened
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani is in France’s squad for the first time. National coach Didier Deschamps announced the 23-man squad on Thursday, which includes three other professionals from the Bundesliga alongside Kolo Muani. Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and Benjamin Pavard as well as Dayot Upamecano from FC Bayern are also available.
The latter two are currently ailing after the Champions League duel with FC Barcelona, but can take part in training again in the coming days, the German record champions announced on Wednesday. Lucas Hernández, on the other hand, is not available for the national team this time because he was out of action for several weeks with a torn muscle in his left adductor area. France will face Austria in the Nations League next Thursday and Denmark on Sunday. The Équipe Tricolore, currently at the bottom of Group 1 in League A, is threatened with relegation.
