US retailer Kohl’s Corporation has filled another key position. On Tuesday, the company announced the appointment of Dave Alves as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). The experienced trade expert will take up the post in April and will then report directly to CEO Tom Kingsbury, according to a statement.
In his new role, Alves will be responsible for the group’s business activities, including the almost 1,200 branches and the global supply chains and logistics centers, explained Kohl’s. His area of responsibility also includes real estate, procurement, sustainability, risk management and compliance.
According to his future employer, the designated COO has more than thirty years of experience in the retail industry. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Retail Officer at US retailer Bealls Inc. Prior to that, he held various management positions at well-known companies such as TJX, Hudson’s Bay Company and Sterling Shoes.
