Kenan Kocak has ended his relegation mission at SV Sandhausen. The trainer of the relegation threatened third division team, who had only returned to his ex-club at the end of December, announced his resignation after only 99 days and 13 games. Until the fifth time, Gerhard Kleppinger takes over and receives support from ex-captain and previous assistant coach Dennis Diekmeier.
“The decision is very difficult for me, because the SVS, the people and the region mean a lot to me. But in the end it is about the club. And for SV Sandhausen, who is above everything, I would like to clear the way for a new impulse. I wish the club the deserved relegation,” said Kocak, who had already trained the club between 2016 and 2018.
Since his return, Sandhausen has only won one win in twelve third division games and crashed from 10th to 18th. The gap to a non -relegation zone is a counter. “I put Kenan respect for his decision, although I feel it humanly as a tragedy. But in the end it is about our club-Kenan has recognized that. We hope that the decision will trigger an impulse in the team. Still, it is certain: SVS and Kenan Kocak will remain friendly,” said SVS President Jürgen Maschmeier.
