Ongoing problems
Gladbach’s regular defender Ko Itakura will be absent from Borussia for several weeks. The Japanese recently had to miss the derby against 1. FC Köln (1:3) due to an ankle injury. Now the “foals” announced that the 26-year-old had to go under the knife.
Persistent problems require surgery. As the club puts it, it was a minor operation on the ankle joint. Itakura will be absent for “a few weeks”. He was always in the starting line-up on the first seven matchdays. In addition to collecting four yellow cards (current highest in the league), the national player has also scored two goals (shared best among central defenders).
