KNVB investigates referee Joey Kooij’s pelting car after NAC – FC Emmen

Unfortunately, another chapter can be added to this season’s book on fan violence. After the match NAC – FC Emmen (1-2), Joey Kooij’s car was pelted. The referee from Monnickendam then got out angrily and reacted towards the fans. The KNVB has now launched an investigation.

Joey Kooij already suffered during the play-off match between NAC and FC Emmen. In particular, the supporters of the Breda club targeted the Monnickendam arbitrator with chants.

The KNVB has now responded and strongly disapproves of the incident around Kooij. The football association is currently in contact with all parties involved about the incident afterwards.
