KNMI warns with code yellow for strong wind gusts

The KNMI issued code yellow this morning from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. due to strong gusts of wind. Rijkswaterstaat expects a quiet morning rush hour despite the wind, because it is still a holiday.

The KNMI predicts that the wind gusts in the northwest can reach 80 kilometers per hour. The wind comes from the southwest and at the end of the morning the wind gusts decrease, but this afternoon it can still blow on the coast and the IJsselmeer with wind force 6 to 7. It is also raining hard this morning in various places in the province.

Although the KNMI mainly warns traffic about the wind gusts, there is no busy morning rush hour expected due to the Christmas holidays. At the moment there are no files yet.

There was a delay on the track. There are far fewer trains running between Anna Paulowna and Den Helder due to a signal and point failure. Buses are currently running between Den Helder, Den Helder South and Anna Paulowna. The NS expects to have resolved the malfunction around 8.45 am.
