The KNMI warns of local slippery conditions from Sunday evening in Drenthe, Friesland and Groningen. There is a risk of treacherous slippery conditions due to icy conditions, especially on Monday morning.
From Sunday evening 9 p.m., code yellow applies in the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen. The weather warning in these two northern provinces applies until 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
In Friesland, code yellow applies from Monday morning at 4 a.m. until Monday after noon.
“It will freeze in the northeastern provinces on Monday and in combination with some rain, this can result in treacherous slippery conditions due to icy conditions,” Weeronline said. According to the weather service, the rain may temporarily change to wet snow.
