Knee injuries: Mönchengladbach without Neuhaus and Itakura for weeks

As of: 09/12/2022 5:56 p.m

Florian Neuhaus and Ko Itakura will not be available to Borussia Mönchengladbach for several weeks.

As the Bundesliga club announced on Monday, both players suffered knee injuries. Neuhaus suffered a partial rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the game at SC Freiburg. He does not have to be operated on, but will definitely “not be available in the next few weeks,” according to the club.

Itakura sustained a partial rupture of the medial ligament in his left knee during practice Monday morning. According to the club, the Japanese does not have to be operated on either and is being treated conservatively. However, the new signing will probably not be able to play a game for Borussia until the World Cup break.
