Klopp annoyed – “I could also tell my microwave”

Jürgen Klopp has a clear opinion on the increasing burden for football players. But for that, professionals would have to do without money.
At Jürgen Klopp, the idea of renewed World Cup upstocking then has a great incomprehension on 64 teams. “I heard about it,” said the former success coach to the portal “The Athletic”: “I didn’t want to think about it. The tournament in almost five years will take place in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The World Cup participant field had only been increased from 32 to 48 teams in the coming year.
Klopp believes that the much burdened players and the coaches would do without money if they could get more free time. “Why don’t we all sit down at a table and tell the players that they could have eight weeks of vacation a year? Can we talk about it, how? Let’s try it!” Said Klopp. At that time he would have agreed to such a proposal as a player: “If you had spoken to me, definitely.”
It is important that the increasing overload among professionals would be further discussed, emphasized the Global Head of Soccer at the Red Bull Group. The World Association FIFA is sometimes so enthusiastic about its ideas for new formats that it simply forget the players, said Klopp: “Nobody thinks of her.”
The new XXL format of the club World Cup with 32 teams already described Klopp as the “worst idea that has ever been implemented”. His opinion did not change even after the premiere this summer in the United States, he emphasized: “Chelsea was super happy about victory. Great, lots of money. But at some point we have to take care of the few people without whom this sport would not exist: the players.”
