The Kreuzberg streetwear startup On Vacation is getting prominent support: the entertainer and TV presenter Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, known as part of the duo Joko and Klaas, will join On Vacation as a shareholder.
Even if Heufer-Umlauf is not a particularly distinguished start-up investor – On Vacation is the first fashion brand and the second start-up in which he invests – he has been a loyal buyer of the brand for three years, which an Instagram algorithm suggested to him .
He likes the quality of the products made from organic cotton and partially recycled polyester, and the timeless design and vibe of the company. He also liked the two founders Uli Hasselmann and Jonas Michalak, who have the same work ethic as he does.
Celebrities wear On Vacation
Heufer-Umlauf is not the only celebrity who appreciates the streetwear label’s sustainable t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and accessories with funny designs and slogans like “Paradise Is Very Nice”, “Do Nothing Club” and “”Dolce Vita” – too Actor Elias M’Barek, singer Lena Meyer-Landrut and comedy author Tommi Schmitt regularly wear them on their Instagram channels.
On Vacation was founded in 2016 and grew rapidly despite the corona pandemic. The label is mainly manufactured in Turkey and is available through retailers such as Zalando, About You and Peek&Cloppenburg. Last year it brought out a limited collection in cooperation with Zalando and Peek&Cloppenburg.
There is also a close cooperation with Quick-Commerce Start-Up Arive and a first retail presence on Ibiza. For 2023, the focus is on expansion into other countries, according to the label in a press release.
