NoKing Charles III has never worked as he does now. Despite weekly hospital appointments in London, treatment for the cancer diagnosed almost two years ago and which in the coming months will finally be able to slow down, Carlo spent 2025 frantically moving from one commitment to another. A total of 532 appointments which not only place him at the top of the ranking of the most workaholic Windsors, have allowed him to finally beat his sister Anna.
King Charles is the hardest working Royal
In recent years, Anna (75 years old) had always come first, with multiple commitments often conducted during the same day. But, with 478 appointments, she now has to settle for second place: in the last 12 months she has been overtaken by Carlo, 77 years old, who managed to “collect” 50 more appointments.
The incessant commitments of the Royal Family
The ranking was drawn up after an in-depth analysis of Court Circularthe bulletin released by the British monarch’s court, which reports all the official commitments of the most important Royals from day to day. As of 2025, the Royal Family has completed a total of 2458 official appointments. Alone, Carlo took on almost a quarter of it, touring the United Kingdom far and widegoing abroad, with two visits to Italy, as well as Canada and Poland; and also welcomed three heads of state to Windsor.
The reign of Edward and Sophie, who beat Camilla
In third place, a surprise: Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, with 313 engagements, followed by his wife Sophie, one of the pillars of Charles’ monarchy, with 235. The Wessexes are, together with Anna, also the Royals who work the most abroad. Queen Camilla, however, is in fifth place, with 228 engagements.
Does William work so little?
The heir to the throne allowed himself to be beaten by the octogenarian Duke of Gloucester (212) and is in seventh place with “just” 202 commitments. After William, other senior figures of the Royal Family emerge, all still very active, such as the Duchess of Gloucester, 79, in eighth place with 113 engagements, and the 90-year-old Duke of Kent, with 77.

And where is Kate Middleton positioned?
Kate, 43, finds herself in tenth place in the rankings, having completed 68 commitments during 2025. Hers has been a very gradual return, after the long break in 2024, caused by an operation and the treatments she had to undergo due to a tumor which is now fortunately in remission.
The English Royals work harder and harder
2025 saw a notable increase of around 22 per cent in the work of the four most important Royals, namely the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales. Charles’s commitments increased by 49 percent, while William’s increased by 45 percent. But the average age calculated on the most important Royal workings worries Buckingham Palace: a figure – 68.7 – which exceeds the retirement age and which indicatestherefore, a monarchy with a look that is still too old, which can only wait to leave its place in a few years, to the new generation of George, Charlotte and Louis.
