This year’s Christmas speech was filmed at Westminster Abbey in London. Last year, Charles broke with long tradition when the speech was filmed in Fitzrovia Chapel.
It was the first time in more than ten years that the royal Christmas speech was filmed somewhere other than Buckingham Palace or the grounds of the royal estates. The late Queen Elizabeth usually gave her speeches at the palace, Sandringham Estate or Windsor Castle.
Charles delivered his first Christmas speech in 2022 from St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, near his mother’s final resting place.
