Has Angela de Jong been asked for Yvonne Coldeweijer’s new juice program or not? She herself says so, but John de Mol claims that she is lying. And that is not the first time…
It now appears that Yvonne Coldeweijer’s juice show has been canceled by John de Mol, but when preparations were still in full swing, Angela de Jong revealed that she too had been asked to become one of the experts in the program. She says she refused, and received compliments about it from Johan Derksen.
‘Angela? No!’
Shortly afterwards, Johan had a personal conversation with John, which he talked about in detail on television. During that conversation, John not only revealed that he was throwing Yvonne out of Talpa, but the media billionaire also denied that Angela had been asked for the program.
Johan: “De Mol says to me: ‘Yes, and then I read everywhere that we approached Angela, but I spoke to her once five or six years ago for that six-hour program, but there is no question that she was invited to that program.’”
AD diva is silent
The Talpa boss states that there was no question of bringing Angela in at all. “But she said in the AD podcast: ‘They have approached me, but I am not going to do that.’ I thought it was very wise not to start it,” says Johan.
Curiously enough, Angela has not responded to this further in her AD Media Podcast, so the question remains: was she honest about her request to participate in Yvonne’s juice show or is there something else at play here?
Jokkebrok
It is not the first time that John accuses the opinion diva of lies. Angela revealed in 2018 that she had been asked for the then evening show 6 Inside and previously for her own late talk show. “When John wanted to recruit me for 6 Inside, among others, I was able to get a contract for a total of eight thousand euros for three years.”
John later denied it and that pissed Angela off. “I’m not going to lie about it. What would be my purpose in lying about that?”
Critical opinion
Eva Jinek, who had Angela on her show at the time, thought it was strange that John categorically denied it. “Why would Talpa deny that so categorically?”
The AD diva then: “Did you read what I thought of DanceSing? Well, I don’t rule out that there is a one-to-one relationship here.”
Pissed off about independent criticism. And that goes to the heart… It seems that in addition to gossip bobos Evert Santegoeds (Privé), Guido den Aantrekker (Story) and Bart Ettekoven (formerly Weekend), John would prefer to have two more frogs in his wheelbarrow: Angela and Yvonne. The first one didn’t want to, the second one turned out to be a frog with no TV talent.
