Ending his career on Sunday Sebastian Vettel shared big praise in the latest episode of the Beyond the Grid podcast Kimi Räikkönen.
Vettel, who won four world championships with Red Bull, has faced countless drivers in his career, but the German said that in a certain way, Räikkönen’s abilities behind the wheel of motor vehicles are in a class of their own.
– I think Kimi is the greatest natural talent I have ever met, Vettel said.
Vettel meant pure speed.
– Of course, it can be seen in an (F1) car, but it can also be seen in all kinds of cars.
Vettel was inspired to come up with the idea of a racing series where the car is changed every day. Vettel estimated that Räikkönen would beat everyone else.
– If you give him the wheel, he knows what to do with it. Sometimes it feels unfair. You have to get used to it yourself, figure out the track or the conditions, but for him it’s just… boom.
Vettel and Räikkönen were teammates at Ferrari for four seasons. The German has previously praised his relationship with Räikkönen.
The last race of Vettel’s successful F1 career starts on Sunday in Abu Dhabi at 15:00 Finnish time.
It is possible that Vettel will also be seen in Finland after that, because the man owns a handsome summer house in the municipality of Joutsa.
