Hollywood has lost another outstanding character actor: Michael Madsen is dead. The actor, known from cult films such as “Kill Bill” and “Reservoir Dogs”, was found lifeless in his house in Malibu on Tuesday morning. According to his manager Ron Smith, he apparently died of cardiac arrest. Madsen was 67 years old.

How “Hollywood Reporter” reported, the rescue workers declared him dead at 8:25 a.m.. His spokeswoman Liz Rodriguez confirmed the death to “dpa”. In a joint statement, his team Madsen recognized as “one of the most iconic actors of Hollywood” who was missing deeply.
Michael Madsen’s life and career
With his presence, the Chicagoer native shaped the works of director Quentin Tarantino. In “Reservoir Dogs”, which was released in 1992, he played the unscrupulous Mr. Blonde. In “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” from 2004, he embodied the removed Killer Budd. He also performed in “The Hateful Eight” and “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”.
Madsen has been seen in over 300 productions since the 1980s. This included classics such as “Thelma & Louise”, “Donnie Brasco”, “Species”, “Free Willy” and “Sin City”. He also had a supporting role in the James Bond adventure “Die on another day”.
His image as a dangerous outsider was not only liable on his canvas. In 2018 he said in an interview: “I think I was more credible than I should have been. People really fear me.” Madsen also hit the headlines away from the camera. In 2019 he was convicted of drunkenness at the wheel, and in 2024 he was temporarily custody after a dispute with his wife. However, the matter was enclosed as a “disagreement”.
