Kick-off: bench seat Kelly Zeeman wants to play, but prefers to stay loyal to Ajax

She won the European title in 2017 and played a total of 24 times for the Orange squad. Ajax player Kelly Zeeman was thrown back by injuries and is mainly a bench seat at the current Ajax. Zeeman hopes for more playing time and does not think about leaving for the competitors PSV, FC Twente, let alone Feyenoord/Barendrecht. “I can’t get over my Ajax heart,” she says in our football talk show De Aftrap.

The 28-year-old Zeeman started her career at Telstar, but has been playing for Ajax since 2013. Last season she was rented out to sc Heerenveen, because she had lost the fun due to lack of playing time. This season she rejoined the selection of trainer Danny Schenkel, but with three substitutions her contribution is limited. The Volendam has an expiring contract with Ajax.

World Cup Final

Second guest Sjors Blaauw is working hard as a football commentator at ESPN. His dream is to be able to comment on the final of the Champions League or the World Cup. “That is a very high bar, but you have to have that ambition.”

You can see De Aftrap every Friday evening on TV at NH Sport. The first broadcast is at 5.10 pm. After that, every hour at ten, the entire repetition follows. Click here if you want to watch previous episodes. You can watch tonight’s broadcast in its entirety below.
