Our country issued an international ‘Red Notice’ against Widausky, who is suspected of recruiting and exploiting women for a prostitution gang. According to Peruvian media, the arrest happened at the request of the court in Bruges. Widausky would risk 20 years in prison in our country.
Widausky, a much-discussed showbiz figure in Peru, was surprised on Tuesday around 8:20 a.m. when she walked down the street in Lima in sweatpants and white slippers.
Agents from a special Interpol search cell, assisted by Peruvian intelligence services, handcuffed her.
The allegations from Belgium are not mild. According to the Peruvian police, she is considered a key figure in an international gang. Widausky allegedly recruits women for prostitution in Belgium and shares directly in the profits.
“This concerns human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, pimping, membership of a criminal organization and theft with violence or threats,” it said.
Dark past
Widausky has long been a controversial figure in Peru. She often appears in gossip programs and shows her luxurious lifestyle on Instagram and TikTok.
Yet she had come into contact with the law before. In 2015, she received police protection for a while after she survived an attack and was a key witness in a notorious drug murder case.
Inexplicable wealth
In addition, a money laundering investigation is underway in Peru against the influencer due to unexplained wealth. In addition, the court recently confiscated a luxury apartment and parking lot worth about $250,000.

As Widausky waits in a cell in Lima for a decision on her pre-trial detention and possible extradition to Belgium, she shouts out her innocence.
As she was led away by police on Tuesday for a medical check-up, she shouted to the press that she had been framed by a relative in Belgium. “I blame my cousin, that scammer, who filed a false report to destroy me,” Widausky defended himself fiercely in front of the rolling TV cameras.
According to her entourage, the cousin falsely accused her to protect himself and his partner in Belgium.
It is now up to the Belgian justice system to request her extradition. According to the Peruvian authorities, because Widausky can file an objection, this procedure can take weeks or months.
