Kevin Schumacher extends at Hansa Rostock until 2026

Contract also applies to the 3rd league

Second division side Hansa Rostock has extended Kevin Schumacher’s expiring contract. The left foot, who can be used flexibly, signed a new working paper with the Baltic Sea townspeople until 2026, which is valid for both the 2nd Bundesliga and the 3rd division.

The 25-year-old switched from TSV Havelse to “Kogge” on a free transfer in 2021 and has played 55 competitive games for Hansa since then. In the current season, in which Rostock made the league perfect early last weekend, Schumacher contributed three goals in 29 games. “We are very satisfied with Kevin Schumacher’s development. He came to us two years ago as a regional league player and has developed into a regular player in the 2nd Bundesliga over the past few months. We are convinced that with his skills he can continue to play an important role in the team in the coming seasons. We are therefore pleased that we can tie him to FC Hansa Rostock for the next three years,” said CEO Robert Marien.

Schumacher said about the extension: “For me, a childhood dream came true when I switched to professional football. I am very grateful to Hansa for giving me this opportunity back then and I would like to give something back. That’s why the club was always the first point of contact for me, despite a few other inquiries, when it came to a new contract. I feel very comfortable in the team and in the city and I think we can still achieve a lot together. I look forward to being able to help write the next chapters in the successful Hansa story.”
