Kevin Möller is the celebrated player at the Flensburgers after the European Cup victory. SG captain Golla is not just astonishing the sporting performance.

In the rest of the Hamburg arena, they gradually spread out the light when Remmi-Demmi was still in the red and white and blue corner. Again and again the handball players of the SG Flensburg-Handewitt of the raging crowd presented their trophy-and above all one name was chanted by the screeching fans in continuous loop: “Kevin Möller, Kevin Möller,” it echoed through the wide round.

“If you had told little Kevin 20 years ago, he wouldn’t have believed it,” said Möller afterwards with a mix of emotion and pride: “You dream of something like that.” The Danish goalkeeper had a decisive part in the Flensburg title defense in the European League with crazy 21 parades in the final against Montpellier HB (32:25). Because he had defused 20 balls against the MT Melsungen (35:34) in the semifinals on Saturday, Möller was rightly awarded the MVP of the Final Four.

“We know what Kevin can do. It is of course outstanding that it works on two days in a row,” said SG captain Johannes Golla. In this form it is “almost impossible to win against us”. And Flensburg’s coach Ales Pajovic also called the performance of the keeper “incredible”.

Möller himself announced a wet and happy break before making his team on his way back to Flensburg. “He will drink ten beer”, said the 35 -year -old veteran with a broad grin. Golla takes great eyes in view of the announcement of his goalkeeper. “When I drink ten beer, my body doesn’t cope. Then either burst my stomach or I’m on the toilet all night.”
