Almost two years after the death of the “Friend” star Matthew Perry, there is movement in the legal processing of the case. According to the US Ministry of Justice, Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen”, has agreed to guilty to guilty in several charges.
The American-British double citizen was arrested in August 2024 after investigators: inside North Holywood referred to as a “drug sales camp” and found more than 80 cans ketamine there and other substances such as cocaine, methamphetamine and XANAX.
Connection to the death of the actor
According to “BBC”, Sangha is accused of having delivered the dose of ketamine, which Perry cost life in October 2023. The actor was found dead on October 28, 2023 in the whirlpool of his house in Los Angeles. An autopsy showed that acute ketamine poisoning was the cause of death. Perry, who turned 54, had undergone both a medically accompanied ketamine therapy against depression and anxiety, as well as additional illegal drugs.
Charges and impending punishment
As part of the indictment, Sangha had originally been accused of nine offenses. Now she wants to commit herself guilty in five points, including the distribution of ketamine with death consequences, the maintenance of a drug-involved in the drug and three other cases of ketamine trade. This threatens a maximum penalty of up to 65 years in prison.
More co -accused
In addition to Sangha, four other people are charged in the Perry case, including the doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, the long -time assistant Kenneth Iwamasa and a well -known name Eric Fleming. Everyone has now also submitted admission of guilt. According to court documents, Fleming and Iwamasa had acted as middlemen and brought Sangha into play as a supplier. A few days before his death, Perry bought 25 doses ketamine for $ 6,000 in cash. Including the doses that later led to his death. Sangha’s lawyer Mark Geragos said his client took responsibility for her actions. In the coming weeks in front of a federal court in Los Angeles, she is scheduled to appear, where the admission of guilt becomes official. The sentence should be decided in the coming months.
For understanding
Ketamine is an anesthetic that has been used for decades, which is used, among other things, for operations, but also for the treatment of therapy -resistant depression. At the same time, it is considered a party drug with hallucinogenic effects and carries considerable health risks if it is consumed uncontrollably.
