Kerem Kamal wins the gold medal in the Under-23 World Wrestling Championship



Kerem Kamal won the gold medal in the Greco-Roman style 60 kilos at the Under-23 World Wrestling Championship held in Spain. According to the statement made by the Turkish Wrestling Federation, the national wrestlers hit the mat in the ongoing organization in the city of Pontevedra.


In Greco-Roman style 60 kg, Kerem Kamal eliminated Georgian opponent Irakli Dzimistarishvili in the semi-finals and matched with Azerbaijani Nihat Zahid Mammadli in the final.


Defeating his opponent 8-0, Kerem became the owner of the gold medal.


Nesrin Baş in women’s final


Women’s 68 kg national wrestler Nesrin Baş defeated world and European champion Moldovan wrestler Irina Ringaci in the qualifying round, Spanish Marta Ojeda Navarro in the quarter-finals, and Sienna Ariana Ramirez of the USA in the semi-finals to reach the final.


Nesrin Baş will face Japanese Naruha Matsuyuki in the final.
