Keeper Robbin Ruiter in De Kick-off about that one Ajax training: “I really liked it”

Robbin Ruiter has been SC Cambuur’s first keeper since the end of January. Last year, the born Amsterdammer was in the picture at Ajax when Remko Pasveer and Jay Gorter were eliminated due to injuries. “I had a wonderful training session and I was all set, but they went for Tyton.” It would have been a dream if it had continued, says Ruiter in our talk show De Aftrap, which you can see on TV at 5:11 p.m.

Frank van der Geest is the other guest who joins us. In the past, Van der Geest played for AZ, Sparta Rotterdam, Heracles Almelo and FC Volendam, among others. He has been the goalkeeper coach at the latter club since the summer of 2021.

Remarkably, the premier league player has extended the contracts of trainer Wim Jonk and his staff until mid-2026. But that does not yet apply to the expiring commitment of the goalkeeper coach. “I have not extended yet, but talks are ongoing,” said Van der Geest.

In addition to these two (former) goalkeepers, a goalie also passes by in this broadcast of De Aftrap. Kelly Steen defends Telstar’s goal in the women’s premier league. She plays in Zandvoort Touch the Flag against Erik-Jan Brinkman.
