Keanu Reeves comes to Berlin for an appointment – you actually think of a cinema premiere, a shoot or a press tour for a new film. But none of this is the reason for the actor’s visit. Reeves will play with his band Dogstar on June 23rd at “Huxleys Neue Welt” in Kreuzberg.
This is how you have Keanu Reeves right under your nose:
As with the last shows in Belgium, France and Spain and not least at Huxley’s two years ago, Dogstar will probably be on stage in Berlin for a good 1.5 hours. Anyone who has always wanted to see Keanu Reeves has the unique opportunity to see the actor face to face for a longer period of time at Huxleys. On July 1st, Dogstar will move to Cologne, to the Carlswerk Victoria.
If you want that: position yourself to the right of the stage! The band has a set stage order. From the audience’s perspective, you should stay at the right edge of the playing area to get a close look at Reeves. Anyone who is more interested in singer Bret Domrose (sure, right?) is in good hands in the middle. Drummer Robert Mailhouse traditionally sits at the back on the drums. The only place that might be awkward is to the left of the stage – the band only consists of three members.
Anyone expecting Reeves action will be disappointed
Keanu Reeves is personable in interviews, likes to make jokes and creates a good atmosphere. But on stage, the Hollywood star holds back a lot – you could almost think he’s trying to be as inconspicuous as possible.
As previously explained, he stands to the right of the stage, but so far to the right that he sometimes seems like a supporting character at the edge of the stage. Only singer Bret Domrose has a microphone, and Reeves will probably not speak or interact with the crowd once, as has been the case at previous performances.
At least the most famous Dogstar member can no longer hide behind his mane. He has ditched his long hair and now has a short hairstyle. Previously, Reeves liked to hide his face during performances by looking at the ground.
