Kathelyne (16) has been living isolated in a dark bedroom for months: ‘It’s inhumane’

The bedroom dark, the shutters closed and headphones on to block out noise. That has been the life of 16-year-old Kathelyne Honing from Hoevelaken for months. She was always sporty and active, but three years ago her life changed dramatically. It started with dizziness and extreme fatigue, but now she can no longer go to school, she has stopped exercising and she is becoming increasingly isolated.
