Trainer is aiming for Bundesliga

Coach Christian Eichner from Karlsruher SC strives to the Bundesliga in the long run. “Sure, I have this goal. Every coach probably has that,” said the coach of the Baden second division club in the interview of the German Press Agency. “In the best case, there is the possibility at some point with your own club.”
Eichner’s contract with the KSC runs until June 30, 2027. Although both the club tip and the coach had repeatedly expressed their mutual appreciation, the contract was only extended in November after a month -long hanging game. It no longer contains exit clause. With 184 games as Karlsruhe head coach, Eichner has been the most durable KSC coach since Winfried Schäfer (519 games), whose time ended at the 1998 wildlife park. Apart from that, no other trainer has a longer term in Karlsruhe (with Löw & Kuntz: All KSC coaches with balance sheet).
“I neither exclude something, nor do I promise anything,” said Eichner with a view of his future. “We live a good openness and honesty on both sides.
Also conceivable abroad for Eichner
Eichner has been head coach of Karlsruher since February 2020. Since then he has completed two seasons with them in the upper third of the table. This season, the KSC is only in tenth place after a strong first half of the season.
Eichner can also imagine a change abroad at least perspective. “As far as this is concerned, I definitely became more open. The time as a player in Cologne shaped me so that I no longer have worry about such a change. It was different in the past,” said the ex-professional. “But of course the family must always be taken into account. Everything has to make sense. At the moment, I think the topic is still far away.”
The season went. Nothing goes upwards and it won’t be enough down either. Actually, a good moment, with a system and line -up with a view of the next season, to experiment a little without me immediately. The coaches do that in the beginning. So everyone sees more precisely where the potential where the deficits lie. You just can’t expect big things for this season. …
