Lennart Karl is delighting fans and those in charge of the German record champions this season. His heart’s club is still different.

22 competitive games, 6 goals, 2 assists: Lennart Karl is celebrating his breakthrough at FC Bayern this season. The 17-year-old is already one of the biggest discoveries of 2025/26, both with Munich and as a candidate for the German national team. A great future is prophesied for the teenager.

During a visit to the fan club, Karl spoke openly about his future plans – and revealed his dream club. But the fans of the German record champions won’t like this – because it’s not FC Bayern.

“FC Bayern is a very big club,” said Karl during a visit to the fan club “FC Bayern Munich Fanclub Burgsinn 1980” in Burgsinn, Lower Franconia, on Sunday. “It’s a dream to play there.” But then the revelation: “But at some point I definitely want to go to Real Madrid. That’s my dream club, but that stays between us.” Then Karl added: “Of course Bavaria is something very special.”

Karl and Real Madrid even have a spicy history: seven and a half years ago, the then ten-year-old completed a trial training session at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. At that time he was still a youth player at Eintracht Frankfurt. However, the move to the Madrilenians did not take place. Instead, his path led via Viktoria Aschaffenburg to FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022. The offensive player only celebrated his Bundesliga debut for Bayern at the start of this season in a 6-0 win over RB Leipzig. Karl’s current contract at Säbener Straße runs until 2028.
