His outburst of anger against Gladbach brought BVB professional Karim Adeyemi into the headlines once again. The conversation with his coach is still pending.

Karim Adeyemi is about to have a clarifying conversation with coach Niko Kovač at Borussia Dortmund’s training camp in Marbella. The national player was extremely annoyed about being substituted in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (2-0) in December and wanted to go straight to the dressing room. There has been no discussion with his coach since then, as he has now confirmed.

“We haven’t done that yet. After the game, of course, everyone went off in their own directions,” said Kovač, who said he had already made contact with the player. Now the whole thing should be gone through “again in a personal conversation with four, six or eight eyes.”

Kovač also explained that Adeyemi had enough time to reflect on his behavior over the holidays. “I also know Karim very well, Karim is a very, very good boy by nature.” The offensive player knew “that he made a mistake,” said the coach. “He will certainly change that again accordingly.”

BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl had already announced a fine for the 23-year-old after the incident. He was also the one who stopped Adeyemi from going into the dressing room. “That’s not appropriate, and Karim knows that too,” Kehl emphasized at the time.

Shortly before, Adeyemi had already made the headlines for another incident. He had gotten into trouble with the judiciary because of a “mystery box” he ordered that contained illegal weapons.
