The Brabant suspects of the devastating explosion in The Hague worked through an extensive plan in the weeks before. Mourad B. and Iliyas B., both from Roosendaal, bought a cart full of jerry cans at the Hornbach, refueled for hundreds of euros in gasoline and ordered heavily illegal fireworks via a telegram group. This is apparent from a reconstruction of RTL News based on court documents.

The two carried out the revenge plan of knowledge and main suspect Moshtag B. After his relationship with the owner of bridal fashion store Aliyahs Styling threatened to go wrong, he wanted to destroy her financially. B. would have promised the men from Roosendaal and Oosterhout five hundred euros if they set fire to the store.

The original plan was to empty the store, damage the expensive floor tiles and spray the walls with graffiti, Moshtag B. told the police. According to him, a third person, Adil A. from Oosterhout, came up with the idea of ​​set fire to the dresses in the case. But according to A., that was precisely Moshtag’s idea and he was aware that it was about his ex.

After a few months, the Oosterhouter withdrew. He thought the risk was too great and the promised reward too low. That is why Mourad B. and Ilyas B. only continued the preparations, according to the file.

Released after failed first attempt
The original plan was to set fire to the bridal store on December 1. On that day, security cameras from Bouwmarkt Hornbach registered how the two stuff struck. On images that RTL has in its hands You can see how they walked to the cash register with a cart full of jerry cans.

But the first attempt failed by attentive agents. They did not trust it, searched the bus and found 14 jerry cans with gasoline and cobras. The Roosendalers were arrested on suspicion of arson, but after interrogation they were released again.

400 euros petrol refueled
Despite their arrest, the Roosendalers worked on a restart. Through a telegram group, Mourad B. tried to get new fireworks on December 6. The two also went to hardware stores to buy jerry cans. On the day in question B. B. for almost 400 euros in gasoline at a gas station in Belgium. Five hours later the building was blown up.

Probably due to an abundance of gasoline, the revenge action ended in a huge catastrophe. Not only the bridal shop went up in flames, but several houses collapsed. Six people died. An eight -year -old boy survived, but lost his parents and sister.

A day before the attack, the main suspect had gone to London to have an alibi. He was there again with his ex and claims to the police that he has tried to call the performers to blow the job. That morning she called him in a panic that her business was on fire, not knowing that her ex-boyfriend already knew everything.

Proof in garbage bags
Moshtag B. flew to Dubai in a panic. But two days later he returned to the Netherlands, because there was still evidence in his house. While he was monitored by the police, B. dumped a number of garbage bags in the neighborhood. In one of the bags, the police found a fragmented receipt from the Hornbach with 10 jerry cans on it.

The question remains who exactly was the brain behind the plan to set fire to the bridal fashion store. This week, the suspects are coming to court for the first time in an introductory session.
